The idea

Most GPs already know other GPs. What is harder to find is a peer who knows your strategy, your portfolio, your LPs and the decisions you made last year, and who will say so when this year's plan does not line up.

Many of the hard calls in running a fund involve people with a stake in the answer: LPs, partners, your team, founders. This is a place to talk those through with people who do not have one.

We are not building a large community or a directory. We are assembling one small room and keeping it together.

Who it is for

• Managers of venture funds who have closed a fund and are running it, or raising the next one.
• People who will show up, speak plainly and give as much as they get.
• Not for service providers, and not a route to LPs. Membership buys a seat in the room and nothing else.

How it works

• Eight to ten GPs, selected by us. Rooms are built to avoid direct competitors.
• One moderated Zoom a month, about two hours. Attendance is expected.
• The agenda is the members' real issues: fundraising, portfolio, team, and the management company itself.
• Strictly confidential. What is said in the room stays in the room.
• A private group chat between meetings for quick questions.

Terms

$5,000 per year, paid annually. If it is not useful, you have 60 days to get your money back, provided you have attended the first two meetings. Most members expense it through their management company as an ordinary business expense.

Nothing is charged when you apply. We read every application, talk with candidates, and invite members personally.
